Easy and Delicious Dinner: Homemade Stromboli

Why order out when you can cook something this delish?!

Next time you have a craving for take out, try this easy Stromboli recipe. You won't be disappointed.

1 premade pizza dough- I love Trader Joe's Garlic and Herb brand
mozzarella cheese
filling- (meat is pictured here for the husband, I like sautéed spinach)
1 egg, beaten

1. Roll out your dough into a rectangular shape on a floured parchment paper surface.

2. Spread sauce in the middle of the dough.

3. Layer your filling, then add shredded cheese and fresh mozzarella.

4. Cut strips of your dough as shown, about 2 inches thick.

5. Using the egg with a pastry brush, braid your Stromboli and apply egg as a "glue" to hold it together.

6. Lightly brush Stromboli with the egg mixture, then sprinkle with parmesean cheese.

7. Bake at 450 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

8. Allow to cool for ten minutes before cutting and enjoy with a side of sauce for dipping.
