Cricut Crafting: Custom Lap Loom

My latest craft undertaking? Woven Wall Hangings. Part 70's kitsch, part yarn-stash buster, these retro beauties are my new obsession.

I purchased a lap loom that was moderate in price, because although I am still day dreaming of Maryanne Moodie's sustainably sourced loom, I did not want to invest in it until I know if my weavings are truly "unbe-weave-able"...

Until then, I figured my trusty Cricut Design Space could help me customize my loom. I went with aztec inspired triangle shapes and arrows, and stuck to white vinyl to match the pegs.

After I designed the shapes, I measured my loom and re-sized my images using Design Space.

I printed out the images on vinyl and simply positioned them on the loom. Wow! Instant upgrade!

I actually LOVE how this turned out, and how I customized the tools as well. My loom-envy has subsided and now I can begin my new hobby.

To store my new loom and accessories, I turned my Cricut dial to "Iron On" and designed this good vibes tote. Both projects were cut and complete in less than 30 minutes!

I love my Cricut and can't wait to weave!
