Cricut Crafting: Easy Banner

I fell in love with a banner that simply said "Figure It Out", and, after an hour of google searching later, found it for sale for $200. Well, being the DIY mama that I am, I could not pay $200 for a wooden dowel, felt and some sewing, no matter how much I loved it.

I chose instead to enlist the help of my trusty Cricut to cut some corners and make my own version.

Want to make a fun banner of your own?

You will need:
A fun phrase- "Good Vibes Only" or "Yes Please" or "Be Kind Not Right"
a wooden dowel
Soy Stain in Walnut
a 12x12 piece of felt
scissors
Iron on vinyl
scrap fabric
iron and ironing board
sewing machine and thread
twine
washi tape or nail

1. Cut your felt into a banner shape by cutting a triangle out of the bottom.

2. Mirror print your phrase and any images with your Cricut Explore. Iron on the images and wording.

3. Stain your dowel rod. I love Soy Stain for an eco-friendly and water based option that works great!

4. Pin down 1 inch of felt and sew a seam.

5. Slide dowel into seam.

6. Knot twine to hang banner.

7. Tie some fabric scraps to either side, or make some pom poms or tassels.

8. Hang with washi tape, say the phrase, and repeat as needed. :)
