Read Along With Me: People I Want To Punch In The Throat by Jen Mann

Confession: I read this book in 2 days. Yes, it's that good. Better yet, it's great!

Jen Mann's candid and hilarious tales about motherhood in suburbia is such a breath of fresh air from the normal "perfect mom" stories posted on every parenting blog. I embraced this book because, let's face it, we are all just winging it.

I highly suggest this if you are a supermom who is super tired and super in need of a laugh.

Enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch Rice Krispie Treats

It is still Pumpkinpalooza over here! This time, the flavor of pumpkin and spice merged with my favorite treat, rice krispie squares.

To make a 13x9 tray,
you will need:
-non stick spray
-parchment paper
-3 tablespoons of butter
-bag of marshmallows
-1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
-1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
-1 teaspoon pumpkin spice
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla
-1/3 cup pumpkin puree
-6 cups cereal

1. Spray the pan and parchment paper. Set aside. Press the pumpkin puree in a paper towel to remove moisture.

2. Melt the butter in a large pan on low heat. add the marshmallows and stir until liquid. Add pumpkin.

3. Add the vanilla and spices and stir until well combined.

4. Turn off heat and add rice cereal. Stir until well coated.

5. Spread the treat in the pan. A great tip is to spray your hands lightly with non stick and flatten gently.

6. Allow to cool then cut into squares. Decorate with pumpkins for a cute little patch.

Enjoy!

Pumpkin Chow!

Yum. Muddy Buddies, Puppy Chow, Chex mix...whatever you call it, its delish. This take on the classic dessert snack has pumpkin spice as its main ingredient- all treats and no tricks!

To make a tray of your own you will need: (no, I would not try and half this recipe! It is too good!)

1 box of cinnamon Chex
1 1/2 cups of white chocolate chips
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons of pumpkin spice
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 bag of Pumpkin Spice M&M's

1. Pour the chocolate chips in a glass bowl and microwave, stirring every 15 seconds to prevent burning. Once fully melted, add the oil and spice and stir.

2. Pour the box of cereal in a large bowl and spread the melted chocolate on top. Using a spatula, stir until each piece is coated. This took me about 12 minutes.

3. Pour the cereal into a gallon size Ziplock bag and dump in the sugar. SHAKE like hell to coat.

4. Pour out the contents into a lasagna tray and add M&M's. Toss to mix.

5. Stop yourself before you eat the whole tray.

Enjoy!

Read Along With Me: Not That Kind Of Girl by Lena Dunham

Is it wrong I am hoping for a train delay tomorrow while I commute to work? I just so desperately want to continue reading this book!

Judy Blume was quoted as saying "always funny, sometimes wrenching, these essays are a testament to the creative wonder that is Lena Dunham". You can't doubt the woman who wrote "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret".

Is anyone else out there reading this new release? I have a feeling this is going to be a book to discuss over drinks. :)
